Professional Organizations: National Association of Social Workers Experience: I have 33 years of psychotherapy experience, working with individuals, families, couples and groups. I work with people suffering from depression, anxiety, grief and adjustment to chronic illness. Helping couples find their way out of their unhappiness and into a deeper, more satisfying connection is a source of great personal and professional satisfaction. Over the last 20 years, I have developed a special interest and expertise in working with survivors of the chronic trauma associated physical and/or sexual abuse in childhood. Philosophy: I believe that each person has the knowledge he or she needs to move toward a more fulfilling life. My job is to create a safe environment, allowing that wisdom to emerge. Trauma and the thought patterns common to anxiety and depression block access to what is deeply known. I use a variety of methods to help clients remove those blocks and move forward: talk therapy, EMDR, sand tray work, art, music, meditation and guided imagery.
